Behold the G factor
by Sharan Kaur and Crystal Lee

G factor - that was one of the criteria for Female's 50 Most Gorgeous People finals held last night at Zouk. What exactly is this elusive G factor?

Look no further than Most Gorgeous Female winner, 27-year-old Melissa Petros, to find out. The American citizen - who has an identical twin - credits her exotic looks to her Singaporean-Chinese mother and Hungarian-Greek father.

More than just a pretty face, the mellow Petros is one smart lass too. The development consultant has worked in seven countries in the past five years and speaks several languages including Spanish, German, Thai, Vietnamese and even Khmer. "I love just moving to a place where I don't really know anyone, and getting to know it and its people as well as learning the language," explaining her wanderlust streak.

Petros humbly thinks her eyes are her best feature because they look "kind". She laughingly adds, "I also, oddly enough, get a lot of compliments about my collarbones."

The adventurous charmeuse is not without insecurities, though she has learnt to wisely brush them aside and focus on the positive. "I wish I had more of an hourglass figure as I feel sometimes that I have quite wide hips. But I try not to think too much about it, I'm happy with the way I am. I would never go out of my way to have surgery to change anything, not that I think that's wrong but personally it's not the thing I would probably do."

Wise words that will definitely hit home with the many young girls who struggle with achieving the "perfect figure".

Such a gorgeous female should definitely have plenty of gorgeous men at her side, we muse. "Gorgeous to me comes in many different forms, the only one thing consistent about all the guys I've dated is height. I really like tall guys. I want to be with someone who's intelligent, thoughtful and eager to explore the world just like I am." But hold your horses gentlemen, this beauty is already attached to someone who shares her passion for adventure.

While Melissa has jetsetted around the world, she remains deeply connected to her family at heart. "I want to dedicate this (win) to the two most gorgeous women in my life - my sister and my mother. They're not here today, my sister lives in Africa and my mother in the US, so unfortunately they couldn't be here but they're here with me in spirit."

Big and beautiful

She doesn't quite embody what a typical gorgeous person would be, yet she walked away with two subsidiary titles - Most Alluring Female and Most Anna-igmatic Female - last night at the grand finals of Female 50 Most Gorgeous People 2008.

A size medium for top and large on the bottom "on a good day", Ms Pamela Shee had no qualms about her vital stats when all the others where fitting into the S sizes.

The voluptuous diva received one of the loudest cheers from the crowd last night at the grand finals, and she credits her confidence to her "friends and family who loves me for me".

"I'm bootylicious, and I like it that way."

Ms Shee is a spirited role model for a girl to look up to when it comes to loving your own body.

"I know it's hard. I have my own girlfriends and I think they're fabulous. They're curvy so they hit the gym to lose weight but I'm like 'You look great, Please don't lose the boobies man! Keep it big you know!', quips Shee. "I think anyone worth their thought for a man would see a woman from the inside, it's not from the outside. So girls, don't let the men dictate you!"
