EVERYONE'S talking about high street mega brand H&M coming to Singapore next year.
The trills of joys emitted by fashionistas islandwide were resounding.
Now that the hysteria has died down, there is another reason to chime: Top British high-street label Topshop and its trendy brother Topman will open shop in Knightsbridge (opposite Paragon) on Friday.
And it won't be just any store opening - the outlet is nearly 1,100 sqm (about the size of 10 HDB five-room flats), making it the largest Topshop outside of the UK and the US.
As expected, the brand welcomes the competition.
Wing Tai Clothing spokesman Lisa Chai said: "The fashion retail scene is now more mature and ready for more new entrants...
"We welcome the move as it reinforces Singapore as an important fashion capital."
There is reason for the confidence.
The shop will be well stocked with fan favourites: Topshop Unique, Boutique, Kate Moss, and there are also some Knightsbridge exclusives brought in just for the opening.
