'Super kids' and parents to tackle obstacle challenge

PARENTS with young kids aged between six months and 11 years old can look forward to a unique indoor obstacle challenge to bond with their kids.

Organised by Safra, the AsiaMalls SuperKids Challenge Series will be held from next Tuesday at all six Asia- Malls shopping centres in the island: White Sands, Century Square, Tampines 1, Tiong Bahru Plaza, Liang Court and Hougang Mall.

The tournament includes two non-competitive categories that parents can participate in with their kids, as well as three competitive categories to find the fastest "superhero" kids in town.

The top-three participants in each competitive category will pit their skills against one another in the grand finals on April 3 at White Sands.

Said Ms Stephanie Ho, AsiaMalls' general manager: "The event will help us reach out to more families to get their young to adopt a fun and active outlook from a tender age.

"With the flexibility of parentchild participation in some categories, we are confident that the event will be a very enriching (and enjoyable experience) for families, as well as a heartening experience for shoppers."

Mr Tommy Ang, club manager of Safra Jurong, said that navigating the various obstacles will enable the kids to hone their motor skills, strength and agility.

He added: "Many of our NSmen and Safra members have young kids, and this event will create more opportunities for them to bond as a family and have fun together. Fathers can learn more about their kids as they immerse themselves in their kids' imaginative world of superheroes."

Organisers aim to attract about 4,000 participants, who stand to win a total of $10,000 in prize money.

Each registrant is also entitled to an exclusive T-shirt, a backpack, a personalised photo of the registrant in action and a finisher medal. For more information, go to
