The Stylo fashion festival kicked off with a fashion show, a panaromic view and clothes that were good enough to eat, literally.
20 fashion students mentored by Bill Keith joined forces with Hilton KL chefs to create pieces of "fashion fantasies" that had to be seen to be believed.
Bread, waffles etc were used in daring and imaginative clothes.
Datuk Nancy Yeoh President and chief executive officer of Stylo International, said, "It's not meant to be conventional. All things are possible in fantasies."
The show also went back to reality and also paid tribute to the greatest Malaysian performing artistes and fashion icons, Saloma and P.Ramlee with the 60's themed "Saloma & P.Ramlee: A Fashion Fantasy Perspective.
It featured designs from members of the Bumiputera Designers Association and haircuts from Winnie Loo, of A Cut Above.
Roland Folger, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia. "Our aim is to put Kuala Lumpur on the world fashion map by promoting local talents through their creativity and for Malaysia to keep up with global standards in fashion".
Guests at the Stylo opening event at KL Tower included the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Haminah and Datuk Jimmy Choo.
Stylo International was set up to create stylish fringe events to support world class motorsport activities in the region.
