PRISCELIA Chan will never forget Chinese New Year's Eve four years ago.

Far from being a joyous affair, it was on that day that her 58-year-old mother died of heart failure.

Said the 30-year-old actress: 'Don't worry, I'm okay now.

'That was my saddest Chinese New Year, but at the same time, it was right then that I knew Alan was the one.'

Priscelia was referring to her husband, fellow actor Alan Tern, whom she married in October 2007.

She said that she had felt depressed over her mother's death and would confide in Alan, who was her good friend.

It was during those conversations that it struck her that he was always the first person whose voice she wanted to hear. They started dating soon after.

'Nice' is a word often associated with the couple and it isn't hard to see why.

The New Paper arranged to meet them in the heart of bustling Chinatown on a hot weekday afternoon and they turned up, looking enthusiastic and energetic.

Soon, fans gathered around to snap pictures of them on their handphones. Some even asked for autographs and the couple obliged.

Priscelia can be seen in Channel 8's Love Blossoms 2 at 7pm while Alan stars in the prime-time family drama Reunion Dinner at 9pm.

So what does the couple hope for in 2009?

For Priscelia, she hopes to graduate with flying colours (she is doing a part-time degree in business management at RMIT University).

'Um, I just hope everything goes as planned,' Alan said coyly.

Are they planning for a baby?

Said Priscelia: 'We're letting nature take its course. Sometimes, when you don't plan and just go with the flow, you might end up with a pleasant surprise.'
