A virgin bride from a village in Tamil Nadu ended up in hospital with a damaged urinary tract after going through a traumatic first night, reported Malaysia Nanban.
The 28-year-old bride, N. Nirmala of Nagapattinam, had rejected her husband D. Venkatesan's demand for sex on their wedding night on Sept 12, complaining that he was "too bold".
Frustrated, Venkatesan, 30, asked his sister Venkateswari for help.
They approached the bride's parents and together they arranged for another "first night" five days later.
This time, Nirmala refused her husband's sexual demands and even kicked him.
Venkateswari came to her brother's aid and tied Nirmala's arms to make it easy for Venkatesan to have his way with his wife.
The next morning, Venkateswari found Nirmala lying in a pool of blood.
She was admitted to a government hospital, where she underwent surgery.
The doctors said her urinary tract was damaged due to her husband's rough treatment.
Police arrested the bridegroom and his sister after Nirmala's brother Vimalraj lodged a report.
