Actress Joanne Peh has revealed in an interview with a local magazine that she and her boyfriend of 4 years, Bobby Tonelli, have parted ways.

According to Shin Min Daily News, she tearfully told a magazine reporter that she felt like she did not know Tonelli, 32, at all.

"It slowly dawned on me that I don't know him. I don't know what he's thinking. I don't think he knows what I'm thinking, what I'm feeling, what I'm going through either," she said.

"We have different goals, different levels of communication, and different ideas about life. I realised I don't know much about him anymore, and that I felt like I couldn't really express myself as genuinely as I can," she added.

Peh met Tonelli while they were both acting on the set of Little Nonya in 2008. Last year, rumours about the pair getting married were rife.

However, in her latest interview with an English-language magazine, the 28-year-old actress said that she would be moving into a new condominium unit - but not with Tonelli.

She also said that there had not been a third party involved in their break-up, but blamed the split on their differences instead.

"The more time I had to think about it, the clearer it became that we're not moving in the same direction," she added.

Not being in step with each other led her to the decision as she was afraid of having to keep up an appearance for the rest of her life.
