After its blockbuster collaboration with Parisian designer Karl Lagerfeld for its Christmas holiday collection, Shu Uemura is back to tempt beauty junkies with another covetable one-off range.
For its spring 2013 Sakura Collection, the brand roped in budding Japanese artist Ob.
In 2011, the 21-year-old was picked by contemporary Japanese artist Takashi Murakami to be part of his artist collective, Kaikai Kiki, which promotes the work of young artists.
Ob's whimsical designs are based on four imaginary princesses. The cartoons adorn Shu Uemura's iconic products, including the cleansing oils, lipsticks and its new Poreraser UV Underbase Mousse. There are also two sets of limited-edition embellished falsies. Prices start from $14 for an eyeshadow casing.
Shu Uemura, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, is known for teaming up with unlikely personalities for special ranges. In 2011, its holiday collection was created with Hong Kong director Wong Kar Wai.
