It's been a while since Fala Chen appeared in public. However, she attended an event with singer Jolie Chan, model Irene Wan and artist Ronan Pak on April 26.

In an Oriental Daily report, Fala was quoted as saying that her old contract was signed back when she participated in MCI, which expires in May, in replies to rumours that she is fussing over her expiring contract and isn't willing to renew it,

She is currently in discussions with TVB that are going smoothly but she did express the impasse has nothing to do with her being pregnant or frozen out by the company.

Fala said: "I hope to collaborate with TVB in a different way. Since entering the industry, I've been filming TV series straight and haven't had a real break.

"I'm currently thinking of my next steps to take. I want to go for additional studies, and have already registered for a summer course in the US

"It is necessary for an artist to increase his/her value too."

Fala added that the most important is a comfortable collaboration.

Having 'grown up' in TVB, she believes that the things that matter to her are the relationships and the nature of work, not the terms, conditions or length on a contract.

She also laughed off questions of potential offers from other companies, and said: "Nope, but I probably won't sign with ATV.

"Someone has asked me to shoot a TV series in China, but my company has arrangements for my work in the Mainland.

"I hope to have good news for you all."
