Singapore - The only other contestant representing Singapore at the International Pole Championship (IPC) 2013 is Mr Daniel Kok.
Mr Kok, who was the overall winner in last year's SG Pole Challenge contest, will take part in the men's category.
The host country for the IPC always grants the winner of the affiliated pole challenge contest a spot among its 30 finalists.
Mr Kok, 37, started dancing in 2002 while he was an A-levels art teacher. He left his teaching in 2010 to focus solely on dancing.
He started competing in poledancing professionally last year.
A fine art and critical theory graduate from Goldsmiths College, London, Mr Kok is also certified by the Trinity Laban Centre, the UK's only conservatoire of music and contemporary dance. In 2008, he received the Young Artist Award given by the National Arts Council.
Mr Kok said of the upcoming IPC competition: "I feel excited about representing the local poledance community. It feels like a responsibility.
"I hope to bring something unique to pole-dance at the IPC."
