How do I make my smaller right eye look bigger?
by Hong Xinyi

Q My right eye is smaller than my left and sometimes when I go without make-up, people will ask if I have a sore eye. How do I make my smaller right eye look bigger?

A Freelance make-up artist Larry Yeo would like to assure you that you are not a freak. Lots of people have eyes that are not perfectly symmetrical and all you have to do is master the art of using eyeliners.

Simply draw a slightly thicker line for the smaller eye and a thinner line for the bigger eye, then curl both sets of lashes to open up your eyes more and you will have a dazzling set of peepers.

Yeo loves the Shu Uemura Drawing Pencil ($32) as well as M.A.C's Penultimate Liner ($31) for their easy application and long-lasting, vivid colour.

For those with oily lids, he suggests more oil-resistant gel eyeliners such as M.A.C's Fluid Line ($28) and Shu Uemura's upcoming Painting Liner, which will be in stores on April 1.

You may also want to consider using eyelid tape or glue to balance out the way your eyelid creases for your smaller eye.

Check out Sasa (02-200 Marina Square) for its Roc or Pink Lady eyelid tape ($3.90 each) and Eye Putti eyelid glue ($12). The store's on-duty make-up artist can show you how to use these products if you need help.
