Belles of the ball

They were like walking pieces of art.

Socialite Shabnam Arashan (left) and businesswoman and homemaker Dimple Aswani (right) impressed with their glamorous looks and beautiful gowns, and were among the 20 Best Dressed women at this year's ICON Ball on April 29 at the Shangri-La Hotel.

Dressing to the theme "A Beautiful Ode to Art", Ms Arashan, who is in her 30s, wore a creation from Hong Kong designer alice + olivia x David Choe, which was inspired by paintings. The lady and monkey prints on the dress symbolise love, kindness and positivity.

Ms Aswani, 33, wore a sculptural gown from local designer Heng Nam Nam, jewellery from Graff and carried a clutch from Judith Leiber.

Her shoes were from Giuseppe Zanotti.

The two women were given the award for epitomising glamour and inimitable style.

The ICON Ball, held annually by the award-winning Chinese luxury lifestyle magazine - part of SPH Magazines' stable of titles - is now considered one of the most prestigious high society events and attracts the most influential and elite names in Singapore.

Some 300 guests attended the event, which also celebrated the magazine's ninth birthday this year.
