WHAT: Tsuya Tsuya Silkfactor Collagen Spa Pedicure
Having never paid much attention to my feet, having them pampered so thoroughly was a completely alien experience.
Callous patches were applied to soften the hard skin on my soles, and collagen masks were wrapped around my feet – think cold, wet socks, but nowhere near as uncomfortable as that sounds.
In fact, having my feet massaged with the masks on was an entirely relaxing experience.
Apart from a few girlish giggles during the scrubbing, I emerged embarrassment-free, and with shiny nails to boot.

WHAT: CosLab ESWT Cellulite Treatment
After a body weight analysis where I discovered that I am disastrously soft and overweight, I was ushered into a room with the ESWT machine, which uses shockwaves to break down fat molecules to reduce cellulite and improve elasticity of the skin.
The shockwaves felt like sharp pinches on my stomach, and I had to undergo 10,000 shots, which was a tad uncomfortable.
The shockwaves are normally used to break down kidney stones, and have been recalibrated to target fat molecules and even help people suffering from muscle aches.

WHAT: BrowHaus Browgraphy: Shaping and Colour Tweak
My bushy, unkempt eyebrows were the perfect blank canvas for the Brow Architects at Browhaus to work their magic on, but I never expected how much it would hurt.
As part of the colour tweak, my eyebrows were first lightened just one tone, to match my hair colour for overall facial balance.
Then the tweezing began.
This was sheer torture and I was squirming and shaking in my seat.
I even teared a few times and contemplated leaving after one eyebrow was done, before realising how stupid I would look.
But I persevered – and full credit must be given to Queenie, my Brow Architect, who handled me with incredible patience and understanding.
Not only do I have neater brows but also a newfound respect for women – how do they do this regularly?

WHAT: The DRx Medispa Hair Purifying Treatment
At the DRx Medispa I spoke to a trichologist – someone involved in the science of hair and scalp care.
After a quick scan of my scalp, I learned that dead skin cells and oil were causing a plaque buildup in the pores on my head, preventing new hair from coming out.
This was all done very scientifically and with pictoral evidence, so you can even compare your before and after results.
I had the Hair Purifying Treatment, where lotions and solutions were massaged into my scalp and an O2 machine resembling a steamer helped to open the pores on my scalp.
A painless low light laser was then used on my scalp to draw more impurities to the surface.
Another scan of my scalp revealed the plaque to be gone, leaving my pores open and ready to bloom.
Pushing back the onset of male pattern baldness this way can only be a good thing.

AFTERMATH:
I can now safely say that never ever again will I let my eyebrows be touched – I’m just not manly enough to take it. The shockwaves are uncomfortable enough to keep me away, but I’d definitely do the pedicure and purifying again – without anyone knowing, of course.
