Singaporean was hair guru to Nicole Kidman
by Dewi Sriwahyuto

NICOLE Kidman, Hugh Grant, Ewan McGregor and Katherine Heigl. Singaporean Jonal Chong, 47, has worked on them all. Chong, a hairstylist who was based in London for seven years, was Kidman’s personal hairstylist from 2000 to 2007, styling her hair for awards ceremonies and even for her famous Chanel No. 5 ad campaign.

“My glamorous life started when a hairstylist fell ill during the 2000 Brit Awards,” said Chong, who opened a Savoir Fair (SF) salon in London in 1998. He was called in at the last minute to style the manes of British pop group Five.

That turned out to be his lucky break. Scottish actor McGregor, 38, got in touch with him and employed him for the London premiere of Moulin Rouge. There, Kidman, 42, who also starred in the 2001 film, hired him on the spot.

“Nicole loves big curls in her hair,” said Chong. “That’s a style I followed for five of her Moulin Rouge premieres, and also a few red-carpet ceremonies like the Academy Awards.”

He added: “Nic’s very friendly and she’d tell me nicely if she didn’t like a hairstyle I suggested. When she’s working, she’s serious. But when she’s not, she was so much fun.”

His contract with Kidman ended in 2007, the year he returned to Singapore; he had opened an SF salon at The Centrepoint in 2005.

He will launch his second Singapore salon, SF at Orchard Central, next month. That outlet will offer services at “heartland prices”.

However, it’s not Chong himself, but his trained apprentices who will be working at that outlet. Cuts are priced from $13, while a hair treatment with colour and cut starts at $38. The prices depend on the length of the client’s hair.

Clients wanting Chong to work on their manes would have to visit his Centrepoint outlet, which has been renamed Jonal Chong Hair Couture.

He charges $250 and up.

“What’s important is to find your own style and personality,” he said of the secret to good hair. “You will then look beautiful. And I’m here to help you do just that.”

NOTHING ! CASE has no teeth and is useless with absolutely no vested power!

we are continuing to send messages to all cheats and potential cheats; "hey, its ok, just apologise and we forgive you!". WTF! you and I who have been fleeced by unscrupulous retailers daily; and do we get a fair and adequate redress? FUC'K ALL.

what a waste of time pursuing with CASE. just the same outcome with the SimLimSq's cheats, time-shares hustlers, multi-level marketing scammers, unit trust investments, over charging by lawyers, over servicing by doctors, workshop mechanics, etc.... have you heard of any cases handled by them leading to heavy fines or jail terms? i have not. have you? all we hear is "sanction", "black list", "slap on the wrist" or some stupid "demerit points"; are these truly enough? i certainly don't think .....

So he has admitted to lying about styling Nicole Kidman, Katherine Heigl and Hugh Grant. What about the group Five and Ewan McGregor?
He must've been practicing hard to lie about this stuff, until it becomes his "real" life...
What would happen to him now, I wonder...

I can confirm that the picture is manipulated and a photoshop software technique was use to replace the face only i.e. the next is the same on both shots. Looking at his picture alone, you can see there is a slightly blurr compared to Nicole whereas, Nicole face looks clear and sharp. Take a look at the crease on the collar and the middle portion of the shirt and you can see both are the same crease mark.

A stupid marketing move to show he is a celebrity hairstylist. Why don't he pose with Kim Jong Il and claim he was the hairstylist for him too.

you don't need a genius to discover jonal chong is a big scumbag who has hoodwinked many of his trusted clients into parting good money with his false association. Nicole Kidman is not just one, let me prove the others which you might not have already noticed:
1) clip both of his photos with Hugh Grant and Katherine Heigl and superimpose both his face together. now, look at the lightings (reflections on his face) and angle of the shots. what do you get? wow, IDENTICAL ! do you think it is possible for both shots to have such coincidence!!!
2) look at his London address on his name card. now, google it in Google Map to see where is that address. IS THAT the place (or "salon") where Hugh, Nicole and Katherine go for their "star-look". hey, you will also discover who actually occupy that address. hmmm... .....

one of the pics looks like it has been doctored......compare the two pics of the guys' hair partings.

It is very clear that those photographs has been altered. I thinks Case or other authorities should charged them for misleading the consumers and or paste a A3 sized notices of appologies at the entrance to the saloon for one month.

Glad i didnt patronise the shop. One look at the cheapskate flyer (name dropping all the stars he claimed to have serviced before) distributed along Orchard Rd, told me that this guy's services are up to not good. Its states a promotional price greatly reduced! and gives the impression that you will be styled personally by him. If he is good, he does not need to give flyers that end up as trash; business would come flying his way.
