Drumroll, please: The results for the Durex Sexiest Couple search are in. Trainee teacher Mohd Khairul Anwar, 24, and his gal, business management student Sofianah Yusuf, 25, are the hottest duo, garnering 54 per cent of the total number of votes.

We get up close and personal with the winning couple, who walked away with $2,000 in cash and a year's supply of Durex products worth $150.

How does it feel to win this contest?

S: We were in the library when we got the call, so we couldn't make a big scene and just spoke excitedly in hushed tones.

K: One of the few people that we broke the news to was my friend who was beside me and another friend who was sceptical of us winning.

What do you think won you the title?

K: Maybe the story of how we became a couple was interesting and cute. I buried a coffee tin at the beach and filled it with paper hearts and a note asking Sofie to be my girlfriend.

What are you guys going to do with the prizes?

K: We are going to split the cash prize 50-50. As for the Durex products, we are going to give those to our friends who are more 'active'- especially those who voted for us.

S: I'm saving my half of the cash prize to do up our new home when we get married in two years' time.

How did you try to get people to vote for you?

K: We asked people to vote for us through our Facebook accounts and I SMSed whoever was in my phonebook to vote for us.

How has taking part in this competition helped to strengthen your relationship?

S: This was something different from our normal activities; the photoshoots and all that were exciting.

K: It was a fun experience and we both enjoyed it. It's something we can reminisce about in the future.

What is the sweetest thing that your partner has done for you?

K: I think getting close to my family and leaving notes in my bag or pencil case as a surprise before I go to school or surprising me with breakfast in the morning are some of the nicest things she has done for me.

S: He always remembers our anniversaries and never fails to do something special for me. This month, he bought me a Liverpool jersey, knowing I'm a big fan of the team.

What is challenging about your relationship and how do you overcome that?

K: Sofie calls me 'the green-eyed monster' as I get jealous when guys hover around her, but I think I'm doing a good job by thinking of the nice rosy stuff that we share instead of imagining all the bad things that might happen.

S: Whenever we have a disagreement, we never raise our voices. Khai is very patient and waits for me to collect my thoughts. We usually try to cool down before discussing the issue and try to see things from each other's perspective.
