One month to find replacement? Not true

The Miss Singapore World pageant organiser, ERM World Marketing, was reported to have said that it would take four weeks to find Ris Low's replacement, according to a television report yesterday evening.

However, a check with the organiser today showed that this may not be the case after all.

A call to ERM World Marketing this morning to attempt to contact Ms Tracy Lee, the event director of ERM World Marketing for confirmation on Miss Low's replacement was not successful. A woman picked up the phone and said to call back later as no one was in the office then.

A second call to Ms Lee's phone number was picked up by another woman, who did not identify herself. When asked if ERM would indeed be replacing the pageant's title holder in a month's time, she said that she had told the television station that it will take 4 weeks to look for a replacement as "they kept pressing me to tell them how long it will take to find a replacement. So I told them to wait, and I just told them four weeks, so they'll stop asking, as they kept asking for an answer."

When asked when they will be releasing another official statement, the woman had said that the organisers were "working on it, and she does not know" when another statement will be released.

According to the same television report, the organiser also said that the new representative will simply have to fly to Johannesburg, South Africa for the Miss World finals in December, when asked if the new Miss Singapore World will have enough time to prepare for the international pageant.

Does it matter who leak the info or who the suspect is? So what is ERM gonna do if they found who is the suspect. Fact is fact! The next runner up should just come up and take over the crown. Why are they look for the next Miss Singapore World? I seriously cannot understand what is the issue here!

What's the fuss? These kinds of pageants have 1st, 2nd & even 3rd runner-ups don't they? Just select the next best contestant. It's not rocket science. If the organisers want publicity, they already got it with the 'Ris Boomz' scandal. Altho' its an unwelcome one.

Something fishy going on with ERM, everything that went wrong can be blamed on them. Why do they have to 'look for a new Miss Sgp'? Everyone knows the 1st runner up takes over. They cant just choose anyone they like. Singaporeans are already very angry about this whole fiasco. They should just do the right thing and redeem some credibility by sending the 1st RU. I think most Singaporeans will agree with that that's the right thing to do.

Isn't there a first runner up for the pagent? Thought the first runner up usually steps up to replace the winner should she fail to meet her obligations??? Why is there a need to find someone else?

i think the best solution now is to cancel the whole event and forget about sending another person to SA! Case close.
For next year i beg for ERM or whoever the organizer do a very thorough screening especially for criminal record to all contestants.
Also let's not to forget to put them through english test.Or perhaps RazorTV can help to ensure potential contestants are good in english by interview each of them and then put up a short video scripts online and wait for reader's response!

if you are still wondering who the hell is this person and what is his/her real motive to track for her record and leak it to the media, do you think you will simply replace her with another person?????
i think even if you are the organizer you will not! cos until the real culprit is known, everybody is a suspect!

How did ERM get the rights to manage those beauty pageants ? Do they need regulatory approval ? they can't even manage the press

May not be big news in international arena. Why the Press so kay poh and keep pressing for answer ? What have past beauty pageants contributed to humanity ?

Such unprofessional employees in ERM. Simply because the press were pressing her for answer, she just quoted 4 weeks to get the press of her back. Irresponsible, unprofessional and totally incapable.

And if it is true that whoever from ERM told the press that the contestant just need to fly to South Africa for the competition, no need preparation, that speaks volume on ERM expectations on whoever going to replace Ris Low, the support she going to get prior, during and after the competition and unprofessionalism of ERM to say such irresponsible statement.

Give the event a miss this year. So much bad press. MSW will attracted unwanted attention, Singapore could also become the object of ridicule. The organizers should pull their act together if they want better calibre contestants.
