At least, that is how it seems from the golfer's alleged mistress count, which has shot up to double digits and includes cocktail waitress Jaimee Grubbs from California, diner waitress Mindy Lawton from Florida and a third unnamed waitress from Florida.

Yes, waitresses - or waiters - are the flavour of the month, and not just with Woods, but also with these stars.

George Clooney, 48

The matinee idol went spectacularly public with cocktail waitress Sarah Larson, 30, last year, when he showed her to the world on the Oscars red carpet.

They broke up months later, and he has been linked to two other waitresses: Lucy Wolvert, 23, and one of Woods' women, Grubbs, 24. She is alleged to have two-timed Woods with Clooney, although all she has said of the actor to Us Weekly is: 'I know him'.

His representative has denied this, however, saying: 'He has never met her.'

Waitress hook-ups aside, he has been squiring someone new, Italian television presenter Elisabetta Canalis, since September.

Ronnie Wood, 62

The Rolling Stones guitarist left his wife of 23 years for a Russian cocktail waitress 41 years his junior last year.

He ended his affair with Ekaterina Ivanova, 21, after his arrest on suspicion of assault on Dec 2. He allegedly choked her during a row near their rented Surrey mansion, and her grandmother threatened to 'get even' with him in a video posted on a Russian news site.

Okay, the actor's Argentine-born wife, Luciana Bozan Barroso, 33, was a bartender, not a waitress.

Still, they were said to have met when she served him a drink in a Miami nightclub in 2003. They married in 2005 and have two girls, Isabella, three, and Gia, one.

Mira Sorvino, 42

Her husband, Christopher Backus, is 14 years her junior and was a waiter when they met in 2003. They married in 2004 and have three children.

Now 28, he is an actor and has shown up in television serials including Life On Mars and The O.C.
