KUALA LUMPUR- Some of superstar Lady Gaga's outrageous costumes will be featured for the first time in Asia at the glamorous STYLO Fashion Grand Prix beginning March 25.
Showcasing them is her designer, young Serbian Marko Mitanovski, who was one of three designers who presented their collections at the London Fashion Week's "Ones to Watch" show at the end of last year.
The pieces, from the collection "Lady Macbeth" feature costumes inspired with the form of renaissance costumes, with punk as one of the fused elements.
Mitanovski will be coming with his team of stylists and makeup artists. STYLO president and chief executive officer Datuk Nancy Yeoh said this year's STYLO would be big on avant-garde fashion.
"Today's popular culture craves the sexy, the beautiful and the bizarre. I haven't seen this expressed as clearly as fresh-faced Serbian designer Marko Mitanovski.
"As one of the three ‘Ones to Watch,' Mitanovski showed an over-the-top collection filled with S&M, Renaissance elegance, a gothic twinge and animalistic elements," she said when met at the STYLO press conference yesterday.
Yeoh added that the show would feature young and emerging designers this year apart from the established veterans.
