Who is Alice Eve?
by Joanne Soh

Who's that girl?

Don't dismiss her as yet another bosomy blonde. Behind this pretty face is an Oxford-educated and stage-trained actress, whose parents are veteran British actors Sharon Maughan and Trevor Eve.

WHERE YOU'VE SEEN HER

In the independent drama Crossing Over (2009), where she had numerous nude scenes. She played an illegal Australian immigrant to the US who agrees to be an immigration officer's (Ray Liotta) sex slave in order to get her green card.

WHY HER

Maxim magazine hailed her Hollywood's hottest new star, while The Times compared her looks to that of a young Christie Brinkley.

This 28-year-old English rose has both looks and brains. What's not to like?

WHAT'S NEW

She has a supporting role in Sex And The City 2 playing a cheery Irish nanny employed by Charlotte (Kristin Davis), but her character's penchant for bouncing around bra-less causes some friction in Charlotte's marriage.

Eve's breasts definitely left a big impression, and if there's any good reason to attract straight guys to watch Sex And The City 2, they would be it.

And yes, requisite wet T-shirt scene included.

Her striking looks are also the centre of attention in the upcoming romantic comedy She's Out Of My League, which opens June 17. In her first starring role, she plays Molly, Jay Baruchel and other men's object of desire.

QUOTED

On working on Sex And The City 2

'The movie runs like a slick machine, and you have to fit into that. I had to make sure I was very prepared, and I do believe in doing your homework.'

On her famous co-stars

'All of them were really nice and hung out with me... They all sat in the same room between takes, discussing their trainers, their families and what they wanted for lunch.'

On why guys should see Sex And The City 2

'This one is more guy-friendly, especially my storyline. My character spices things up a bit.'

On brains vs beauty

'I don't need the approval of people. I don't need people to think I'm intelligent. And I'm not that intelligent. But everyone judges everyone on how they look. We are human beings. It's not that it's an exclusive problem of mine.'
