She kept baby despite doc's advice
by Amanda Yong

SHE wanted the child so badly she went against her doctor’s advice to abort the baby.

But four months after the child was born, the 34-year-old woman left the baby boy  alone at a bus stop with nothing more than a blanket andsome pieces of cloth to keep it warm from the afternoon downpour.

An hour after her son was discovered at the bus stop near Block 152, AngMoKio  Avenue 5, on Thursday, the woman was found two bus stops away onthe other side
of the roadand questioned by police officers.

She was arrested for drug consumption the same day, a police spokesman said. Police investigations are ongoing.

The New Paper on Sunday understands that the woman, who cannot be named as  the child is a minor, has been sent for a medical examination and is still in police  custody.

The child has been taken to the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and the  Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports has been informed.

It was not the first time the baby’s mother has got herself into a tangle – both with the law and with the men in her life. She has had three tumultous relationships since she was 16.

Her current partner, a 34-year-old odd-job worker, is the father of the  four-month-old boy. They also have another seven-year-old son.

For the past 11 years of their relationship, the couple – and their two children –  have been living with his parents at the latter’s flat in Marsiling.
