Miss Philippines, Shamcey Supsup and Miss China, Luo Zilin made it to the top five of this year's Miss Universe pageant which took place in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
The winner, however, was Miss Angola, Leila Lopes.
The first-runner-up position went to Miss Ukraine, Olesia Stefanko, and second-runner-up went to Miss Brazil, Priscila Machado.
Both Asians, Miss Philippines, Shamcey Supsup and Miss China, Luo Zilin, took the third and fourth-runner-up positions respectively.
Luo is a 24-year-old model who hails from Shanghai, while 25-year-old Supsup is an architectural graduate who comes from the General Santos City.
Before the results were announced, Philippine Daily Inquirer reported that a former winner of the Miss Universe title and a pageant expert had said that Miss Philippines stood a high chance of winning the crown this year.
