The Jill Sander collection, created by Raf Simons, transported fashion into a pure and radical world. Models strutted their stuff in dresses which were both severe and poetic, covered in fabric petals, with detachable sleeves, frayed silhouettes and a straight finish. The jackets were cinched in at the waist and seemed to be falling apart at the seams, forming a bubble around shorts while trousers remained loose-fitting yet perfectly cut. Colours like white, beige and ivory reminded us that basics should stay close to nature…
