With their hair braided like sculptures and accessorized with palm leaves or hibiscus; sporting sombrero hats and cowboy boots that had been pierced like lace, Jean Paul Gaultier’s beautiful conquistadors captivated the audience. Dresses tailored in bright colours like lagoon blue, jungle green and blood orange raised the temperature.Denim, leather and chiffon were all plaited, embroidered and fringed…and tailored into corset dresses, jumpsuits printed with Aztec tattoos, long pleated sundresses and silk ribbon dresses- shredded to create the effect of stripes…all of the absolute highest couture!
