Vietnamese is FSO winner

OVER six weeks, fashion came to life in Orchard Road with Fashion Season @ Orchard 2011 (FSO).

A regional model-search contest, spectacular runway shows, interactive fashion-styling workshops, as well as fantastic shopping and dining promotions and lucky-draw prizes were the highlights of the season, now in its second year.

This year, the highly anticipated Orchard Fashion Runway on April 8 featured 150 models who dazzled the crowd of more than 5,000 by walking down a 160m-long outdoor runway along Orchard Road.

They were decked out in this season's best looks from more than 10 participating fashion labels, such as alldressedup, dENiZEN, Dockers, Levi's, New Look, Paule Ka, T.M. Lewin and Vivienne Tam, as well as newly launched labels from Robinsons.

Leading the models during the runway show were 15 contestants of the FSO Asian Model Search, which compris- ed up-and-coming models from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore.

The results were determined by a panel of judges made up of fashion-industry experts, as well as votes cast by the public.

Last Friday, 21-year-old Vietnamese model Nguyen Thi Tuyet Lan was declared the winner during the FSO closing party held at the refurbished Shaw Theatres Lido.

The model, who stands at 1.75m tall, won the title, along with $10,000 worth of cash and prizes.

She told RazorTV in an interview that she hoped the win would help her clinch more "international work" - including more chances to work in Singapore.
