$600,000 wedding dress for Gigi

Hong Kong media has reported that former TVB actress, Gigi Lai, was seen shopping for wedding dresses at a Valentino boutique at IFC in Central, Hong Kong.

She spent two hours trying on different dresses and was reported to have chosen five glamourous and elegant dresses: an exquisite black gown, a flaming red dress, a purple dress, a gold one and last of all, the most important dress - her wedding gown, which costs a whopping HK$3 million (S$600,000).

According to LianHe Wanbao, Gigi has always been fond of the brand and happens to be a VIP of the store. She was also spotted wearing a Valentino evening gown at her best friend's wedding last year.

Shop assistants said that Gigi seemed to be in a good mood. She was smiling and joking with them and expressed a lot of interest in the new Valentino collection.
Gigi left the store after browsing through other clothes on display and hurriedly made her way to the Four Seasons service apartments where she stayed the night.

The 38-year-old actress will be marrying Hong Kong businessman Patrick Ma next month in Sydney in a simple ceremony for family members and will be leaving for Australia before the Lunar New Year.

Hong Kong media has also revealed that Gigi will be moving into her husband's HK$280 million (over S$40 million) residence at Tregunter Path in the wealthy Mid-Levels district after returning from Sydney.

I do not see anything wrong with her lavish spendings. In fact, should be thankful to people like her to help and boost the economy. Her spendings here helped many from the garment/ fashion industry. Am sure, a lot of people have benefited from her spendings. Why making the big deal of this?!
