S.H.E put their stamp on Singapore
by Jocelyn Lee

Taiwanese girl band S.H.E's management are either shrewd or behind the times, depending on what you think of the state of snail mail.

The pop stars' record label has arranged for them to appear on local stamps.

S.H.E, consisting of Ella Chen, 28, Hebe Tien, 26, and Selina Jen, 28, are the first foreign artists to be featured on Singapore stamps.

Singapore Idol champions Taufik Batisah and Hady Mirza were previous musicians to have their own stamps in 2005 and 2006 respectively.

Why choose S.H.E to feature on stamps in Singapore?

A SingPost spokesman says: 'S.H.E have an affinity with the young generation and we were keen to collaborate with their record label HIM when approached. By featuring S.H.E, we want to connect with the young and show them how exciting stamp collecting can be.'

The limited-edition FM S.H.E MyStamp gift set comprises a retro version of the band's latest album FM S.H.E, two MyStamp sheets and three postcards. It costs $59.90.

Although the gift set was launched late last year, S.H.E saw the stamps bearing their images only recently when they were in town to perform at a concert held by their Taiwanese compatriot Yoga Lin.

At a media conference in Marina Mandarin Hotel on Thursday, Jen said: 'We are very excited to see our faces on Singapore's stamps. We just saw the stamps and they are very pretty.'

Tien added: 'It makes us feel very noble because usually only noble people can have their faces printed on stamps.'

Chen jokingly implored their fans not to use the stamps.

'If you use the stamps, our faces will be stamped and we won't be pretty anymore,' she said.
