Singapore - Liu Wen is the total supermodel package. Every single head in the room turns when the leggy Chinese woman enters the room, and this was especially true when she attended the official opening of the Charles & Keith boutique at Takashimaya Ngee Ann City last week.
Maybe it's the way she moves? Liu Wen's 1.79 frame is graceful and not the least bit awkward for a girl so tall, the result of the numerous runway shows she has done. Or perhaps it's her aura? Liu Wen simply glows especially in a white Calvin Klein pant suit.
There's no mistaking that Liu makes a picture-perfect impression. She is, after all, one of the hottest models to have emerged from China. The beauty is the first Chinese Victoria's Secret Angel and now a regular in the lingerie brand's fashion show and the first Chinese face of beauty brand Estee Lauder. Plus, she just landed a spot on the annual Forbes.com rankings as the fifth highest-earning model, behind the likes of Gisele Bundchen, Miranda Kerr, Adriana Lima and Kate Moss.
Yet when we meet her for the first time - the seemingly wide virtual distance between the supermodel and us collapses with the first smile she gives us. We forget - for a moment - that this is a woman who has worked with Karl Lagerfeld and counts other superstars like Joan Smalls and Lindsey Wixson as friends.
The model charms us with her giggly, down-to-earth personality. Even though she is a veteran in front of the camera, her slight nervousness is evident when she is being interviewed and we fall further under her charm whenever she flashes her dimples.
Watch our video interview as the self-professed sneaker lover shares more about her own style and debates the issue of comfort versus style.
