PETALING JAYA, Malaysia: Speculation was rife yesterday about Seputeh MP Teresa Kok’s marital status after a social website announced that she was getting married.

However, Kok will still remain a single girl. The “marriage plans” posted on her Facebook turned out be an April Fool’s joke.

“Many reporters have been calling me for comments and I have to tell them that it’s a joke,” she said.

Kok celebrated her 45th birthday on Tuesday - the eve of April 1.

She clarified that she was not getting married and that one of her employees had posted the marriage plans on the website as a joke.

Kok’s status read: “Her marriage plans had as many combinations as a McDonald’s menu.”

Immediately following the posting, comments were left by her friends either congratulating her or asking whether she had too many suitors to choose from. -The Star/ANN
