You have seen the movie, now you want to steal the look.

No surprise, as the cast of Confessions Of A Shopaholic was dressed by Patricia Field, who created Carrie Bradshaw's fabulous outfits in the Sex And The City movie and TV series.

What the celebrity stylist did for black studded belts and blue satin Manolo Blahnik pumps - both sold out after fans clamoured to copy Carrie - she may now have done for bright neons.

For Confessions, which is set in fashion capital New York, Field put its star, Australian actress Isla Fisher, in acid hues that really stood out, even among a sea of New York's iconic bright yellow cabs.

The acclaimed costume designer also dressed Fisher and the cast in a treasure trove of styles, ranging from vintage chic to designer glam.

Urban gets stylist Steven Kong to decode the looks of four characters from Confessions, for the shopaholics out there.

Confessions Of A Shopaholic is showing now

Rebecca Bloomwood (played by Isla Fisher)

What she wears: Anything goes for this shopaholic. Field explains her rationale for Rebecca's loud outfits: "Here's a character who's shopping every day. I figured she'd have a big selection of colour in her wardrobe and that gave me the idea I should go with colour for this girl."

What you can wear: Kong calls Rebecca's look city chic. He advises that you play with colours and monotone graphic prints so that you can stand out from the crowd.

Jane Bloomwood (played by Joan Cusack)

What she wears: Rebecca's mother Jane goes for timeless pieces but classic does not mean boring. Field injects classy eccentricity with layers and accessories in muted colours.

What you can wear: Kong says: "The character has a 1970s vibe so you can re-create this look, like I have, with a cardigan and bootleg jeans."

Suze Cleath-Stuart (played by Krysten Ritter)

What she wears: Field dressed Rebecca's best friend Suze like a Williamsburg Girl. Williamsburg is a neighbourhood in Brooklyn dotted with art galleries, boutiques and cafes. Suze's look mixes colour and neutrals and is a cross between a bohemian rocker and a slouchy college student.

What you can wear: Kong says Suze's style is "eclectic meets vintage". "Girls who collect vintage pieces with a knowledge of prints and who like to adorn them can try this."

Alicia Billington (played by Leslie Bibb)

What she wears: With her angular features and penchant for animal skins and black, Alicia, who plays Rebecca's rival in love and work, is also her opposite in style. Field clad Bibb in tight black outfits for a Cruella de Ville look.

What you can wear: Kong says that the look is sophisticated and the style is sharp and lean. Think black numbers and lean silhouettes when you want to be bad, just like Alicia.
