Carina Lau is pregnant and she is all smiles about it.

The 43-year-old Hong Kong actress, who got married to longtime boyfriend Tony Leung last July, had given up her partying lifestyle following her wedding filled with the hope of having a child, reported Shin Min Daily News.

Besides jogging regularly and going to bed early, she brewed tonic soups for her husband and supplemented her own diet with vitamins. However, Carina was still unable to conceive six months into her new lifestyle.

Thankfully, good friend Sandra Ng stepped in.

The Hong Kong comedienne introduced them to an expert who had helped many childless couples conceive.

Prompted by her desire for children, Carina reported to the clinic almost every week even though each consultation costed thousands of Hong Kong dollars.

She found herself pregnant shortly thereafter, but the Leungs decided to keep mum about the good news until her pregnancy stabilised.
