THE uncertain romance of Cantopop stars Sammi Cheng and Andy Hui Chi-on has again caught the attention of the Hong Kong media.

The duo, who officially split in 2004 after a 13-year relationship, were spotted by paparazzi together at Hui’s house recently.

Cheng had gone to Hui's house in the evening for a BBQ gathering on Jan 16. Also present were their close friends including Dicky Cheung Wai-kin and Eric Suen.

At around 10pm, all the friends left the place except for Cheng.

The couple spent three hours together before Cheng was seen returning home at 1am the next day (top right), Hong Kong's Oriental Sunday reported.

Cheng, 38, did not avoid the media upon seeing them. She even put up a big smile and allowed them to take her photograph.

She, however, remained silent and did not respond to questions posted to her.

While attending an event on Monday, Hui admitted that Cheng had gone to his home but refused to comment on their "relationship".

It is learnt Hui's live-in girlfriend Michelle, a former model, has moved out of his house, an indication of the end of their relationship.

Cheng and Hui, 43, became good friends after she signed up with the same recording company as Hui in 1988.

Their love sparked off five years later after they sang the duet Do You Really Have Me In Your Heart.

Although they have gone separate ways, they remain close friends and their fans still recognise the two artistes as a couple.

Even their friends have created many opportunities over the years to help the duo to be back together again.

At Cheng's concert tour in Hong Kong last month, Hui - who was a guest singer - said the position of the diva in his heart could not be described in a few words.

He then presented a song, Only You Cannot Be Replaced, to her. He also watched all her eight shows.
