Origins A Perfect World SPF 35/PA+++ UV Face Protector with White Tea

White tea makes its appearance in yet another beauty aid for our face. The Origins A Perfect World SPF 35/PA+++ UV Face Protector features white tea for its multi-level protection against the harmful effect sof the environment and premature signs of ageing.

Dullness, ageing skin, looseness in the skin and wrinkling is not just a result of the passage of time. Environmental stressors such as ground level ozone, UV rays and pollution also accelerate ageing in our skin.

Formulated with the extremely rare Silver Tip White tea that contains Epigallocatechin Gallate, a power antioxidant, the Face Protector offers three times more protective abilities than green tea and over ten times the antioxidant power of one capsule of Vitamin E, and helps to protect skin at the surface from free radicals caused by ozone, Uv exposure, pollutions, UV radiation and smoke.

Other benefits of Silver Tip White Tea include:
- Anti-collagenase benefits that help to inhibit destructive enzymes which hasten the appearance of wrinkles and lines
- Anti-glycation benefits to reduce excess accumulated sugar in the skin, which makes skin sensitive to sun
- Repair damage to skin caused by sun exposure and reducing inflammation and redness.

It also has an SPF system that provides 1 to 3 ratio of UVA to UVB protection. This includes Octisalate which blocks UVB, and Avobenzene, which blocks UVA.

Another ingredient, the Maritime Pine, works at the skin's cellular level to make skin stronger and more resistant to internal assaults. This ingredient protects skin cells from glyc-oxidative damange induced by the presence of naturally occuring sugar in the skin,  which increases with age and a higher level of skin damage.

Aside from preventing current damage to skin, an extract from the plant Arabidopsis thaliana present in the Face Protector also works on skin to repair past oxidative damage caused by UVA and ozone exposure. This is a flowering plant that is native to Europe, Asia and northwestern Africa.

Origins A Perfect World SPF 35/PA+++ UV Face Protector with White Tea (40ml) will be available from 19 April 2010 at all Origins counters, and retails at S$55. And during April, every product sold in the A Perfect World collection means you help to plant one tree with the Global ReLeaf program, as part of the Origins Earth Initiative to aid reforestation projects globally.

Diva's review: We liked that there are only natural ingredients in the Origins A Perfect World Face Protector, so this is a benefit for those of us who don't believe in piling on synthetic chemicals on our faces. While we didn't test it long enough to ascertain whether the pigmentation on our skin that was caused by past exposure to the sun was reversed, what we could tell was that the protector helps to keep sunburn and redness at bay, especially after a day out in the sun.

The texture is light, and the liquid has a consistency that is just thicker than water. It goes on the face with little mess. No added colours in the product meant we can use it either as a make-up base, or on its own if we want to go au naturel.

For oilier skins, beware that after half a day of wear, your complexion does get a little shiny, although this is nothing that a little blotting paper wouldn't help to correct. Those of us with dry skin will be happy to know that our skin loved the moisturising effect.

This is one skincare aid you can add to your daily make-up arsenal to protect your face from the sun.
