One of the key disadvantages that arise involves the rest of the family. Siblings and dad often feel left out since the mother is the only one who can feed the baby. You can always encourage the other family members to be involved in other ways such as looking after the baby when it’s not feeding time or bathing the baby. This will help them feel like they are contributing and allow you to rest.

Breastfeeding may also add more stress to you as breastfed babies eat more often than formula- fed babies since breast milk is more quickly digested. Just remember that babies grow up quickly and they won’t be feeding so often in the later months.
