SINGAPORE - Mando-pop star Stefanie Sun, 34, has given birth to a baby boy, according to a statement released by her company Make Music.
The 3.4kg boy, whose name has not been revealed, was delivered at a hospital in Singapore on Tuesday night.
According to a statement from her management, mother and baby are doing well.
Sun will be taking four months of maternity leave to rest and take care of her baby.
The statement also said that Sun will not be taking media interviews until she is back from her maternity leave.
Just days before, a heavily-pregnant Sun was spotted at the Singapore Botanical Gardens taking a stroll with her father.
The gender of Sun's baby had been under intense media speculation, with many believing that Sun was carrying a girl.
The rumour strengthened after Sun's good friend, Taiwanese Mandopop singer Jolin Tsai "revealed" that the baby was a girl, at her concert in Beijing.
This is the first child for Sun and her husband, Dutchman Nadim van Der Ros, 35.
The couple tied the knot on March 31 last year and held their customary Chinese wedding banquet in May.
