Loewe's Fall Winter 2013 fashion show was yet another stunning display of the Spanish luxury brand's expertise in crafting leather into wearable works of art.
Aside from leather basics such as side-slit pencil skirts, graphic patchwork prints on sweatshirts and knee-length coats - inspired by the architecture of the historical city of Bilbao in Northern Spain - are made luxuriously decadent with full-out nappa leather.
Loewe's creative director Stuart Vevers also literally turned nappa leather on its head by introducing shearling on oversized coats - nappa leather is really shaved shearling - in its full fluffy form as well as in a more toned-down version.
Bag fiends will undoubtedly clamour for the new take on their Flamenco bag, the Amaya. The Amaya bag retains the drawstring element of the Flamenco but is decidedly more structured and serious.
The Flamenco Box Bag is yet another thing of beauty that will appeal to younger women. The nappa leather is kept as is, but is toughened up with a hard case in the base of the bag and given an intricate touch - a hand-braided leather chain strap.
