Shu Qi is a good person, but she should not be Chang Chen's other half.
Talking about his son's love life, actor Zhang Guozhu shared with reporters his thoughts on the type of wife that would be suitable for the Taiwanese star.
Of the number of girlfriends his son has brought home, Senior Zhang said that none qualified to be his daughter-in-law, reported my paper.
He said: "When it comes to marriage, we can help our son in his choice of bride - to see if she is indeed suitable for him.
"A good daugher-in-law should be able to look after her husband and support him in his work.
"Chow Yun Fat's wife (Singaporean Jasmine Chow) is an excellent example of an ideal daughter-in-law."
When asked to comment about Chang Chen's rumoured girlfriend Shu Qi, he said: "It doesn't matter whether my son's wife is from the same industry.
"What's important is that she has a good character. Shu Qi is not bad, but she probably should not be Chang Chen's other half."
In reply to his father's comment, Chang Chen said with a laugh: "I am very sure of the fact that my father has never met Shu Qi before."
Chang Chen and his father are currently in Hainan filming the movie Blue Cornflower with actress Fann Wong.
