Luxury becomes China

With it's fast growing economy, a wide swath of European luxury brands are opening up in China.

Recently Bottega Veneta and Marni have took their turns to open new stores at strategic locations.

Bottega Veneta chose Shanghai's International Financial Center in Pudong to open their new boutique.

The store measures a spacious 345 square meters and carries a wide range of Bottega Veneta product, including handbags, luggage, women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, shoes, small leather goods, eyewear, and an assortment of items for the home.

This new store features Bottega Veneta’s signature store concept, designed by Creative Director Tomas Maier. Every element of the boutique interior, from the walnut tables and handcrafted vitrines to the door handles sheathed in leather, has been custom-made.

Among the notable design features are aerodynamically shaped, vertical window louvers of palm wood and steel and a finely crafted display counters with slide-out billiard-cloth presentation pads.

The boutique is designed carefully in a bid to enhance the shopping experience of all it's customers. They have selected a quiet, sensuous palette of matte neutrals and earth tones for the outlook of it's store, giving it the crisp and sophisticated ambience.

These elements are carefully picked to reflect Bottega Veneta’s defining qualities: timeless design, modern functionality, outstanding craftsmanship, and the highest quality materials.

This Shangai IFC store is one of the biggest stores in Asia and Marco Bizzarri, the CEO of Bottega Veneta believes that it represents their commitment to development in China.

Marni is also riding on this new wave like all other luxury stores. Their new flagship boutiques are located at Hangzhou and Shenzhen China’s MIXC shopping malls.

Making use of clean and simple architectural language, the recurring theme in the store is on emphazing the minimalist luxury of the space.

Polished concrete and high gloss lacquer form the backdrop while pure steel, translucent fibreglass, natural leather and warm light create layers of texture and depth. Tones of warm grey dominate the interior of the 155 square meter boutique.

The boutique’s entrance is flanked by natural fibreglass mannequins appearing to float as suspended from the ceiling, elegantly presenting it's collection. To top it off, a giant picture window is smartly utilized to put the 108 square meter Marni collection centre stage.

Fashion designer Consuelo Castiglioni has worked closely with architecture firm Sybarite to create understated and elegant settings continuing to provide an unexpected and captivating way of presenting the Marni ready to wear and accessories collections.
