The American First Lady's hometown of Chicago may have lost its bid at hosting the 2016 Olympics, but this coppery-gold lame pleated dress by American designer label Rodarte sure looks like a winner to us.

Obama, 45, attended the 121st session of the International Olympic Congress in Copenhagen earlier this month to help campaign for Chicago, in her trademark cinched waist silhouette.

Alas, her impeccable chic did not help sway the votes in Chicago's favour. But this regal frock by sister designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy does not need any trophies to make it a champion.
