Local designers are getting a boost from clubs like Zouk.

This year saw Wardrobe 2009 taking place 26 June at the club, with two new designers in the spotlight.

"Above The Flock" was the collection from Yumumu. Founded by Lu Yilin, the label launched its double collections in late 2008. Giving attention to sharp cutting, deatils and textures, the designer celebrates the kaleidoscopic range of birds, while models sported painted black eye bands.

Another new designer in the spotlight was Jhon Lim, a former LaSalle-SIA student. With his label ZEETA Apparel, he showed his collection "Constructive Harmony" - a series of brightly coloured dresses, topped with outrageous geometric shapes that doubled as hats.
